New Project!

Got the seat covers that were mentioned in the previous post - and they're PERFECT. The car is going to look great once they're done.

I started yesterday with one of the back seats. The seat was removed from the car and brought into the garage. I just about have the cover off, but I have to clip some hog rings to remove the cover completely. I also need to find some special hog-ring pliers to put new rings in place for the new covers. No one seems to have them around..... argh.

Here's photos of the work in progress:

What can I say??

I'm a slacker... nothing exciting to post really.

Just remembered the bulbs I ordered from the dealer should be in so I took a ride over there.. just my dumb ass luck, they're the wrong ones. FRICK. We couldn't find the supposed correct ones in the catalog so it looks like I'm SOL.

Sure enough though, the bulb that wasn't working is now functioning again... I'll probably forget about it until it craps out again and then I'll be annoyed when the front blinker is going twice as fast in a hyper-spaztic, epileptic seizure-inducing state.

Not sure if I'm going to hunt the bulbs down or maybe even swap out the indicators all together... hmmm... some trick LED ones might be cool.

On another note, I won some replacement factory seat covers for the wife's car on eBay. The ones in the car are a little worn and have some burns from the previous owners. So after they're put on, the interior will look like-a brand new for $85. Score!

The perfect weekend

I guess I couldn't ask for better weather on a weekend. Low 70s & sunny with a nice breeze on Saturday and a little bit warmer today. Because of my normal work hours being pretty early - sleeping in for me is getting up at 7:30-8am.

Today was no exception. Out of bed by 8am and out the door shortly thereafter to one of the local motorcycle meeting places. The turn out wasn't bad - but I thought it'd be better considering the weather..but as the morning went on, more and more people showed up. The place I like to go is called Full Moon in Lake Bluff on Rte 41 & 137. Here are some pics from today's gathering:

Did a little yard work in the afternoon but had the urge to take another ride because sitting inside on a day like this should be a crime. I hopped on the bike and headed NW on Rte 12. Took a right turn onto State Park road and it took me over the Wisconsin border. Using my GPS to guide me I tried some roads I've never been on - some of them were a little slow - but it didn't matter. It was a great relaxing ride and I almost wish I didn't have to head home. Good stuff.
