Perfect Sunday

Just when I thought Spring was here, we get dumped on with another 3 inches of snow. Mother Nature needed a severe beating after that. After this weekend, all has been forgiven.

This past weekend the temperatures were in the mid 70s, there was a great breeze and low humidity. Anyone who didn't take advantage of this weather should be checked for a pulse. Anyone who owned a motorcycle and didn't take it out should have it repossessed. The same goes with people who drive convertibles had still had the top up.

There was a pretty good turn out at Full Moon this Sunday morning. Lots of cool bikes made an appearance - old and new. To give you an idea how nice it was - even people with their custom choppers were in full force. These guys are pretty picky when it comes to riding those things...

After hanging out for a couple of hours it was time to hit the road. Rich on his ZRX1100 and me on my Bandit headed up North to Lake Geneva. Highway? We don't need no stinkin highway! Rich knows a pretty good route up to LG and it takes no time - probably due to our velocity. Traffic in downtown Lake Geneva sucked as usual on a nice weekend day like this. We made our way along the lake and found a spot off the main road to park and relax for a little bit.

It was pretty much lunchtime at this point and I was hungry since I hadn't eaten anything yet. Rich said he knew of a place to head to so I said - lead the way!

We started heading out and Rich made a wrong turn and we were heading directly west instead of south. I use the term wrong turn loosely because today was all about riding - if an unintentional turn yielded a little more seat time, it was all good - except this time my stomach was talking back to me.

About 20-25 minutes later we came to an intersection and Rich said "ok, I don't know where I am." No worries - the GPS knows! We were right on State Line road - and we followed it until it dumped us into downtown Woodstock - Rich got his bearing straight and continued to lead.

We ended up at a place called Halftime in Johnsburg, IL. Half price pizza and $1.00 drafts - need I say more? We kinda stuffed ourselves with more pizza than we should have, but who cares.. We were out of there for around $10 including drinks.

I only rode about 100 miles but today wasn't about covering the most distance I could, it was about being out and about enjoying the ride and taking in the scenery.

Good ride report. You should do them more often. Glad I made it out to see ya.

On a side note, thanks for showing Trent the water ballons.
